Looking for some lighter reading. Haven’t really found much in this category.

Fiction or non-fiction

Also the Lampoon High School Yearbook and Sunday Newspaper parodies, if you can find them.

Good Omens
Carl Hiaasen (Tourist Season and Skin Tight are particular standouts)

I wouldn’t call it light reading, but Don Quixote is probably the most funny book I’ve read. Suttree by Cormac McCarthy has a lot of hilarious moments as well, despite being a pretty serious book.

Max Shulman (Dobie Gillis, Anyone Got a Match?). Haven't read them since High School, but I always liked Lewis Grizzard for a good laugh.

Read a few of his and was funny. Dave Barry looks to be similar.

I’ve got some of these suggestions on my list so good to know I’m heading in right direction

I mentioned this book in another thread, but True Grit the novel (not the movies) is hilarious

Dark? Pahlaniuk

Less dark? Tom Robbins

Just funny? Hiassen, Adams, and Moore

Good Omens is a collaboration between Gaiman and Pratchett, but Pratchett is largely much funnier in general than Gaiman. Gaiman is fantastic, but comedy writer he is not (usually). Pratchett’s own work is worth reading for comedy.
