Humberto Fontova’s biography of Che Guevara

i’m currently reading this book; i am no fan of Che by any means. I think that the way the mass media portrays Guevara is mythical and hagiographical.
But i am having a hard time confirming some of the claims Fontova makes.
He claims Che NEVER received a doctoral degree and was not a doctor; he claims that over 3,000 of Castro’s soldiers died during the Bay of Pigs. However , It seems Guevara’s medical degree is on display at some museum somewhere and I can’t find any corroboration of the casualties estimate of Castro’s soldiers.
A lot of Fontova’s sources are anti-communist Cubans from that era that are still living, mostly here in the U.S.
The author characterizes Che as a bumbling buffoon throughout the book.
i’m just wondering how factual this biography is.
