Does it matter the order you read the Amos Decker series?

I’m about thru with the first one, Memory Man. Good book. I already have Redemption but none of the other ones. Can I read it next or should I stick to the order they were written? Tia

I would read them in order if possible. Characters from earlier books also appear in later books. There is some reference in later books to things that happened in earlier books (but maybe not in major spoiler type ways, IIRC). Also, Amos evolves over the course of the novels. It would be less confusing if your read them in order. Does the Richland Parish Library have all of the books?

Thanks for the info. I’ll stick to the order they were written.
Not sure. The Dewey Decimal system scared me away decades ago and I haven’t been back.

Very good series. I'm looking forward to the next one. David Baldacci writes some good stories. The Will Robie series was also good. Starting the 3rd book in hos Camel Club series tomorrow.

I just started "The Last Mile" (#2 in the series).
I agree with your assessment regarding the order to read. While I always try to do so, I do have to jump around for whatever reason.

First one I read was The Fallen I think. Maybe 4th of the series. It does help to read them in order, but it was a similar "oh I get it" moment when going back to the start and connecting a reference they made later in the series. If that makes sense.
They all kind of run together now, but I think The Fallen might have been my favorite but I never got bored with any of them. Looking forward to the next one which releases this spring I believe.
