As of February 2013, when he needed something to submit for payment. And that was 168 pages of ready-to-print-and-sell material.

And how soon does Arya get back to Westeros, and how?
I think she gets told to leave the FM and head back in the first 1/2 as well.

So does that mean that 15 months later he only has around 400 pages ready to print and sell? That means he still has 600-700 left.

Has it been said that there are only about 400 pages written now?

No...but I'm really hoping he has 2/3rd's of the book done and hasn't just doubled what he wrote since last year.

I would have guessed that the Iron Bank sent him to kill Robert since he was burning through money left and right and going deeper into debt.
Edit: Fixed for the picky mfers

Well, if it was Renly I would have said women's shoes but since I think they were after Robert it's probably sporting goods.
And I'll fix it

I'm not even sure how I made that mistake in the first place. Maybe I have a touch of dyslexai.

Well, ADWD came out in July 2011, so if he only had 170ish pages in Feb 2013, that's a hell of a slow pace. Hopefully he's kicked it into gear over the past year and a half.

Apparently hasn't stopped him from writing new shite. He has another short story in Rogues being released this month. You would think he might want to focus on that other little project of his. You know, the one that has a deadline of sorts.
I'm still thinking that he finishes TWOW this year with a publish date in mid to late Spring, but that is based on pretty much nothing but a hunch.

I'm hoping with the release of a world of ice and fire we get some details on his progress

Your hunches are terrible.
We won't see WoW before 2016 but most likely 2017.
It won't be very good either. Books 4 and 5 certainly don't hold up to the standard he established with the first 3.

If he doesn't have TWoW out by 2017, D&D have my full permission to keep on going.
