True enough.

I need to read Blood Meridian.
For those that have delved into his books, is this one his best? ...better than No Country?

No Country is easier to read but I don’t think it is better.
Blood Meridian really it is McCarthy’s Magnum Opus, but I get why some don’t like it.

Disagree. My admonishment is based on the fact that he/she has already read the first two. It's a trilogy finale, and a Cormac trilogy at that, and should be given the effort by any well-bred respecter of literature.
It is not a traditional trilogy. ATPH and The Crossing are completely separate stories with zero overlap.
Hell, I read The Crossing before ATPH without even knowing they were part of a trilogy.
The trilogy only comes together with Cities of the Plane and you can probably even read that one as a stand alone and not really miss anything pertinent to the story

Most people call it his magnum opus.

Blood Meridian is very different and not nearly as reader friendly, but I think it is the best of what I have read. No Country... reminds me of The Road. Very tough and bleak but more straight forward storytelling. Highly recommend BM.

If anybody is interested, here's a link to a free PDF of a screenplay that Cormac McCarthy wrote in the 1980's. It was never published.
Whales and Men
133 pages so not too long. I haven't jumped in just yet, but wanted to link it here while thinking about it.
