The quality of work in most newspapers is atrocious these days. Budget restraints and cutting corners at every turn has turned it into an inferior product. I'm sure there are some exceptions.

The wife and I do. We were getting the Times Picayune but with it only being delivered 3 days a week, we were not fold of reading 2 and 3 day old news, so we now get The Advocate and are pleased with the quality.

I remember when a kid New Orleans had the Times Picayune that was delivered in the morning and The States Item that was delivered in the afternoon. How things have changed to where we are today.

I still get the WSJ delivered, but I’ll stop once I stop getting the student discount.

I finally went digital only for the Shreveport Times. Used to read it immediately every day, but as its quality diminished the paper copies would pile up for me to skim through every few days.

I actually read the e-edition every day. Not much there, and the deadline is 7 pm. That means a Saturday night sports event gets no story until Monday. It is decent for finding out about local festivals and events; I don't do Facebook.

I also have a subscription to the online Washington Post. Hit it most days.

My parent get the Advocate and I enjoy reading it when I visit. I always loved reading the newspaper.

I read online but the experience is not the same, and I miss a lot of articles I might otherwise read. The writing is crap except sometimes for the NY Times and WSJ. It's too formulaic: 1) personal anecdote/one individual's experience, 2) quote broad statistics supporting slant of acticle, 3) obligatory dig at Trump or White House policy, 4) unsolicited opinion of supposedly objective writer, 5) wrap it up by revisiting the emotional individual story which began the article but offer no concrete solutions.
