Have read all the Dirk Pitt books. Also started the Oregon Files which are a coauthored series.

I've always been a fan of Cussler. The books featuring Isaac Bell were my favorites, but I never read a bad one

I've read several of his books and tried to read several more but either they capture me quickly or I can't finish them.

The Pitt series has fallen off considerably since his son took over writing them.

Yeah, Clive's books were entertaining with the last few getting pretty repetitive and leaning towards not worth reading, the spin offs and main series written by his son are pretty big piles of meh.

Years ago I read a bunch of his Dirk Pitt books and one of the spinoff series. Loved the stuff when he was writing them, but then I just went in a different direction in my reading. Really enjoyed his stuff and thought the Sahara movie was underrated, though horribly miscast.

Tried several in the Dirk Pitt series. Never could warm up to them enough to stick with it until finish. I felt like they were a little bit comic bookish, no offense to Pitt or Cussler fans. That was just me, because I normally like comic books. I think I was looking for something more like Tom Clancy and Jack Ryan levels of characterizations and plot lines at the time.
