sad news for the alternate history community today...with the death of Eric Flint, the creator of the 1632 universe, the ovearching creativity and guidance is gone...
1632 inc. simply isn't financially viable and can't continue to operate.
i hope the authors can find another outlet to publish from...

Eric Flint was one of my favorites, second only to Michael Crichton.
1632 is easily in my top 5 books. I was reading the series as each book came out, then got sidetracked as I waited for new ones. I need to read that whole series from the start.

Yeah, 1632 was awesome. The first several books are great. Eventually, he allowed in too many co-authors and fan fiction-level guest authors and the world got too bogged down in historical minutiae. Nevertheless, any of the books Erik Flint wrote himself were almost always great.
