People commenting on social media about his ugly leg but compared to no leg i would take it.

I always liked Alex Smith. As a Niner fan, I felt he got a raw deal with all the coaching changes that happened during the early years of his career. He had a lot of talent.

That looks great compared to what it looked like early on.

Had infection set in, any one else and they would have amputated. Great30 for 30 or ESPN special about it.

Dude has money, ultra-hot ex-Raider cheerleader as wife who was awesome support for him through the whole ordeal. All worked out in the end. Tough trial, but blessed man.

Man is hardcore. Came back and played on that. Struck gold with a wife who's been by his side the whole time.

The injury happened when they traded Alex Smith to Washington to allow Mahomes to start.

I believe the scars are more from where the tissue had died following some of the surgeries. The tissue dying was the issue during the healing and why he almost lost the leg.

IMO: The scars aren’t as alarming as the bulge on the front of his leg.
