Tom Herman's Post-Game Quote Already Defensive After Maryland Loss
© Reese Strickland-USA TODAY Sports
Texas was coming off a 7-6 season and a Texas bowl win before kicking off their 2018 season against Maryland on Saturday. When the dust cleared on Saturday the Longhorns lost 34-29 which left fans already calling for Herman's head. And this post-game from him probably didn't make them feel any better...

I’m shocked that you have 18 upvotes and no down votes. I’m certainly no Ed O basher, but it’s conceivable that we would be in a better position with Herman. He would’ve been coming into a better situation than Texas as far as talent is concerned. Any way you cut it, too soon to declare him a bullet dodged

Willhigg6: Plenty of talent he inherited, a recruiting paradise, and was able to win big games with meager Houston but can't win the heavy favorited and small games like Maryland (two years in a row mind you). We had a taste of that last year, he continually cant do it on multiple occasions and in a weak conference. I am not feeling too bad right now on missing out on him.

He is right though, Maryland embarrassed them last year.

Lmao, and we ended up with the shrimp boat captain. Could be worse. Let's see what happens to Jimbo & the Aggots tomorrow.

Something's not right about that guy!?! This comment is no big deal and has nothing to do with me saying this, but he seems unstable. High-highs and low-lows type of coach. Seems like a great fit for a mid-major with decent talent like Houston or Boise St., but when he can't play the role of underdog, it looks like he struggles to motivate his team.

full disclosure: I was hoping LSU would land him 2 years ago, and am now kinda glad it didn't happen.
