Three-star DE prospect out of Nash Central, Houshun Gaines, committed to play for the Florida earlier this week. Unfortunately, he later found out that he was being catfished on twitter by someone claiming to be a Gators coach. Per the Rocky Mount Telegram...
quote:

So while Gaines smiled next to his mom and dad with a blue Gators hat on Friday, thinking that he would be playing college football at Florida, the Gators coaching staff was on a plane to Knoxville unaware of the news. When they landed, sources close to the program said that they were shocked.

…He said he talked with an unnamed Florida assistant coach around 8:30 p.m. and got Florida’s side of things. They said Gaines hadn’t been speaking with a Gators coach the past few weeks. Instead, it was someone else.
Here are Gaines' comments on the matter...

At least he has a good attitude about the prank. It was kind of cruel, to say the least.

Very cruel. I hope this kid ends up with a great career at a great school.

Better than the guy who set up a press conference at his HS and committed to Cal a few years ago without any contact from anyone.

His HS coache, he knew that he really sucked, checked into the matter himself and busted his shenanigans.

Man, people suck. It has to be someone who knows him, right? I mean, you don't just pick a random guy to do this to.
