© Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports
Cincinnati Reds pitcher Trevor Bauer had a very strong response to the MLB's new postgame proposal this week and ripped into Commissioner Rob Manfred, calling him "a joke." Well, he's so fired up about this new playoff idea he went and made a YouTube video where he continues to go off on the Commish for seven minutes...

Bauer is the slowpitch playing HS buddy of yours that went to an open tryout and somehow got signed and is now playing in the bigs.

When you’re right, you’re right. Douchebaggery not withstanding.

The guy is a huge doucher but he’s right. There is nothing wrong with baseball the game. The problem lies in the people in charge are trying to kill it because they are letting the media dictate their decisions. ESPN and FOX put all this money in on basketball and it is FAILING. Look at the numbers. So those companies bash baseball to make basketball look better.

"There is nothing wrong with baseball the game.".... wow, that's just dead wrong. Baseball is too slow, with far too many games and too little action. Younger people are tuning out and youth participation is down. The baseball execs know the game is slowly dying, and are trying to speed it up and spice it up. But they'll need more drastic changes to reverse the slow, inevitable decline once the older fans die off. I'm a huge sports fan in an office of other huge sports fans, and we rarely talk baseball, and NOT ONE WORD after football starts. MLB knows changes much occur to remain relevant.
