LSU linebacker Devin White was named SEC Defensive Player of the Week on Monday for the fourth time this season.

White is the first player in SEC history to be named the defensive player of the week four times in the same season. He was also previously named player of the week after LSU's games against Florida, Auburn and Arkansas. Per LSUSports.net:

Against the Aggies, White tied the LSU single-season record with his eighth double-digit tackle game as he recorded 13 stops in the victory. White added 1.5 tackles for loss, a quarterback hurry and his first career interception as the Tigers limited the Aggies to a season-low 55 rushing yards.

LSU forced four turnovers against the Aggies and held Texas A&M to 282 total yards and only 14 first downs. It was also the fourth straight game, and sixth times in eight contests this year, that LSU held a conference opponent without a touchdown in the fourth quarter.

White currently leads the SEC in tackles with 127, which ranks as the sixth-highest total in LSU history.

D White has given 100% effort in every game this year, even at the beginning when a lot of players gave up. This was obvious when he threw a senior linebacker into position before a play and showed great leadership. He should be given the chance to wear #18 next year. Extremely deserving.

SEC Defensive player of the year without a doubt... Whatever the Butkus committee did to exclude him they need to make it right bc if this dude is not on the Butkus award list then I can never respect that award again

I say National Defensive Player Of The Year! I mean, who’s done more every single game than Devin?

Yep should be in the mix for every defensive award and a 1st team AA yet can't make the finalist list for Butkus? Go figure that one out.

Yet, someone from bama will win it. One day, the sec will rename their award to the league's best line backer, after DW.....

Is Devin White the best player in the league? The best defender? Probably and almost certainly. Butkus is a joke.

But, he's not worthy of being a Butkis finalist.....yet several other SEC lbs are. Riiiggghhtttt DW is not a finalist. Yet, he should be the fricking winner.
