With LSU linebackers Arden Key, Donnie Alexander, and Corey Thompson officially out for the Citrus Bowl, head coach Ed Orgeron will look to true freshmen K’Lavon Chaisson and Tyler Taylor along with sophomore Michael Divinity to step up in their place.

Here's what Orgeron said about the defensive group during Wednesday's presser:

Key just seemed to give up as a team player this year. I also found it bizarre that he never did interviews. He got the red carpet treatment yet abandoned the team for the offseason and came back as a porker without keeping up his conditioning. He is definitely not the Key of last year. The young guys will step up. Geaux tigers.

All 3 of the young guys starting in the bowl game have played quite a bit this season. Not only have they played, but have contributed ln defense this entire season in big games. I expect them to step in and play well. It's not like we have 3 guys that have no experience at all stepping in and starting. They will show up and play like tigers. They have to know the great opportunity they have in this game to make a statement for next season. I think divinity will surprise some people against nd, hes a really good lb...they all are really.

Their time to shine. They came to LSU to play big boy football and they have been doing it all year. They should be ready.

Why? He has only played 2-3 games. The rest he was jogging around the field to try to lose the extra weight. He was definitely not the Key of last year; Chaisson was.

Phillips was passed by Taylor early on.

LB Tyler Taylor didn't pass LB Jacob PHillips Taylor backed up LB Donnie Alexander and Phillips backed up LB Devin White. Alexander was often injured and White wasn't that's why you saw more of Taylor than Phillips.
