I've been there, done that with a hamstring pull. After a week or so, I could walk SLOWLY, w/o a limp. Try even walking other than slowly and the leg would let me know I better not do that.

On average, a pulled hamstring (grade 1) should take from a few days up to 3 weeks to heal, whereas grade 2 and 3 tears can take weeks or months (per internets). Lets hope its a 1, he is a fast healer and CEO is taking precaution.
