UL Ragin' Cajuns football coach Billy Napier met with the media on Monday and said that he has not had any contact with anyone from LSU regarding the open job in Baton Rouge. Per The Advertiser:
quote:

“No, I’ve had no discussion with anybody from LSU,” Napier said Monday when asked if LSU had shown any interest in him this week.

Napier didn’t say, and wasn’t asked, if his agent has had discussions with anyone from LSU about the position.

“It’s a very tough situation, and an unfortunate situation, anytime not only the head coach, but the staff, is affected by decisions like this,” Napier said.

“But I’ll say this for Ed Orgeron: He’s been an absolute class act in all my interactions with him, the things he’s done to help our program, the state of Louisiana. We’re thankful for all he’s done to help us.
Many believe that Napier could be in the mix for the LSU job. Here's a look at his coaching bio:

He does, but TD geniuses say we can’t hire the LOULA coach but want a coach from Cincinnati.

So no one asked him if he was interested in the LSU job? Or if his agent talked to them? Let him off the hook I’d say!

I mean he has the same hairline as Joe Brady. Like Tennessee meets The Berry. F it, sign him up!

He's the right guy which means he isn't on Woodward's radar.

That’s our coach and he’d win big and consistently at LSU. But since he’s at LOULA the geniuses on here will say he’s unqualified and can’t coach but will scream for a guy with a comparable record at Cincinnati.

I've come around on Napier and Fickell to the point where I won't be upset by either hire. But I believe there are much bigger splashes that could be made.

“head coach Billy Napier says he has had no interaction with #LSU concerning the head coaching job.” He hasn’t. His agent has.

IMO Coach Napier will be a happier man if he stays at ULL.

If he’s so great why would Saban allow him to leave twice? Frick Napier, we are in a deep enough hole as it is

If he’s making 2M at ULL, just stay there. No real pressure to win big every year. Enjoy life. Less stress. He wouldn’t be happy at LSU.
