The 2026 Preseason AP Top 25 Released, See Where LSU Is Ranked

The Associated Press released its preseason Top 25 on Monday, and LSU will begin the 2026 season ranked No. 11 in the country.

The Tigers enter their first season under head coach Lane Kiffin with plenty of expectations and will have an opportunity to make an early jump in the rankings when they open the season against Clemson on September 5.

LSU will face five teams this season that are ranked in the preseason AP Top 25:

5. Texas
8. Texas A&M
9. Ole Miss
13. Alabama
20. Tennessee

There will be plenty of buzz with LK’s first game. But, I agree that having Clemson ranked would help LSU’s resume even more.

They are ranked, in the better of the two polls in my opinion. That being said, I was thinking LSU would land between 12-14 in both polls, with 12 being where I think we fit in. I guess they average out.
