LSU fifth-year senior defensive end Christian LaCouture told the media this week that he lost about 10-pounds during the Florida game as a result of playing in every snap of the game.

LaCouture sat out all of last season while rehabbing a torn anterior cruciate ligament and lost about 15-pounds this offseason, allowing him to stay out of the field longer. Per NOLA.com:

"With me losing the weight and being more of a guy that's more of a dual threat with stuff like that," LaCouture said, "having last year off and watching Coach Pete and Coach O and getting those mental reps, understanding how that can help your game and putting it into spring ball and summer and working on the bags and camp, I think getting that confidence knowing you could do stuff like that.

"I always felt I could, but it was probably a little harder because I was bigger. Now that I'm in the 290 range, it's just for me, I feel like I'm more leaner and I can move around a little better and get there quicker than I could of."

On Monday, head coach Ed Orgeron applauded LaCouture's play vs. Florida saying it he's playing his best ball right now.

CL needs to tewwt out some recent pictures of his sister. Preferably, you know, like at the lake. Or the pool. Or the beach. Or anywhere else she might be scantily clad...

Our d-lineman have to play so much because of injuries and because Les Miles left us so weak on both the d-line and on the offensive line. Yet O gets all the blame.

Amazing how playing an illusion like Florida (who sucks as bad as we have) can cloud people's judgement. This Saturday will jog you back to reality.

They have a need to bash our players. In some weird way, it makes them feel good about their sorry arse lives.

We need him to be much better at getting to the QB, especially with the lack of Key. If he can do that quicker/better, I think Key would wake up eventually.

He's slowly getting better as the season goes on. At the beginning of the season, he got very little pressure at all. Seems like he was almost in the backfield every snap against Florida.

Amazing what happens when you have more talent on the line and people can't get double teamed.
