SEC Network analyst Peter Burns, a fan favorite of TigerDroppings, unveiled his grades for every team in the conference now that we are 25-percent of the way through the 2018 season.

LSU got an A+ from Burns, as did Alabama.

Through three games this season, the Tigers have knocked off two Top-10 teams and jumped up in the rankings from No. 25 to No. 6. LSU's defense has been playing light out and the offense under new OC Steve Ensminger and a cast of new offensive players is coming around. No one is going to complain about an A+ but there is always room for improvement. And we're sure the coaching staff would agree.

What grade would you give LSU?

I'd give Auburn a B and Florida a D. The rest is spot on.

Not to be a Debbie Downer but we’re not on the same level as Bama...yet. And I’ve been a diehard LSU fan for 60 years

You are probably right but I don't think the grade is saying that we are on par with the Tide. But we have played at, or possibly above, our potential. That is all anyone (pundits, coaches, administration, and fan base) can ask of a team during the season in my opinion.

Gotta give Auby more of its due, imo. They lost by 1 point to a good LSU team and they beat Washington. They're at least a B+ and will be in the A conversation if they keep winning.

If grading on untapped potential I give LSU a B. Once they tap into all they can be they will make the A A+ level....... WE COMIN!
