Former LSU cornerback coach Robert Steeples sent a thank-you message to coaches, players, and others after he was let go on Wednesday.

Brian Kelly hired Steeples two years ago when he took over as head coach. He replaced former cornerback coach Corey Raymond, who is likely a candidate for the opening.

He's a good dude, everyone loves him personally. Maybe a better DC and it's a different story for him.

Would not have minded keeping him. Probably a good coach when surrounded by a better staff.

That’s what sucks about firing coaches….there is a real person with a real family that gets this news just after the holidays.

These guys get a damn good paycheck….but not nearly enough to be independently wealthy.

He wrote that today after being fired? He’s known for days or weeks.
