LSU strength and condition coach Tommy Moffitt as reportedly signed a new three-year deal with the Unversity and will receive a 25-percent raise according to The Advocate:

Moffitt's new deal runs through the 2019 season and pushes his salary from $320,000 a year to $400,000. He's set to receive built-in raises of $15,000 in each 2018 and 2019, according to his new contract. The contract, available in the LSU Board of Supervisors agenda, is set for approval by the board at its meeting next Friday.

Moffitt has been at LSU since 2000 when he was hired away from Miami by former coach Nick Saban.

His son, Aaron Moffitt, is a three-star defensive end that is currently committed to LSU for the class of 2017.

It's ironical that his protege Scott Cochran is much better at the job than him. If LSU wanted the best guy in the country, they should have gone after Scott.

Hard to tell how much of the criticism he received was due to miles' practices. Our players didn't looked gassed the back end of this year, and played about where we would expect. Outside of Redzone efficiency against UF (not on moffit) what is the gripe this past season? We handled ark following a physical bama loss, a bama loss in which their depth not conditioning took over in the 4th quarter.

Miles apparently ran the players into the ground. Even if in great physical/game shape, there comes a point when your body is just exhausted and being in great shape doesn't matter anymore and rest is needed.

I really think we need new blood here. Tommy learned the Hatch method and most of Hatch's other apprentices have evolved as we understand more and more about the body. Tommy isn't cutting edge anymore.

Not true. Tommy also has two protoges of his own out there in Scott Cochran head SC coach at Bama and Vic Viloria head SC at Florida State.

Have they though? That's what we are going to find out under a new regime, how much was miles. You could say FSU has had struggles against inferior talent, and bama has a talent edge on us and everyone they play. Would Moffit not have them playing similarly? Idk
