NOLA.com is reporting that LSU is looking to hire all-time leading rusher Kevin Faulk as a member of the team's support staff.

Faulk reportedly interviewed for the job last week but the official announcement is on hold pending background checks and approval from SEC.

The Tigers are in the final stages of hiring Kevin Faulk as a member of the team's support staff, multiple sources confirmed NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune.

It is likely Faulk will be named the school's Director of Player Development but that is pending SEC approval since Faulk is working at his high school alma mater, Carencro.

As a support staff member, Faulk would not be allowed to recruit off campus or do any on-field coaching but will be a part of an ever-growing staff under LSU coach Ed Orgeron.
Faulk, who played at LSU from 1995-1998, is the school's all-time leading rusher. The Carencro, La. native was selected by the New England Patriots as the 46th overall pick in the second round of the 1999 NFL Draft.

Kevin was the first big time player to commit Lsu.. At that time a hilliard, went to Florida. Florida State got what ever they wanted in baton rouge. Ever heard of Warrick Dunn? Kevin deserves an opportunity. He has been loyal and bellichick swears by him. Enough for me.

If he behaves anything like he has while on staff at Carencro I want no part of him..guy acts like a complete jackass and flips out over everything. Even seen him taunting opposing fans. Another “Special” hire by special Ed O.

I don’t see how having an all time leading rusher and 3 time SB Champion on staff can be anything but positive for the team! I would welcome all former Tigers with those types of credentials! Geaux get em, O!

Love Faulk and all he accomplished at LSU. Now.... back to reality. Yet another short-armed hire. "It’s not about winning championships anymore. It’s about having a puppet coach [and assistants] who can be controlled. Emmert and Saban sent these folks into hiding and we won championships." Welcome to Mediocreville USA.

Watched him in high school play quarterback. he would yell at the defense and tell them where he was going to run the ball and they still couldn't do anything about it.
