LSU running back Leonard Fournette has been dealing with an ankle injury since fall camp and SEC Country Injury Expert Will Carroll reports that he might need surgery at the end of the season to fix what could be "a chronic problem."
quote:

Fournette tweaked his ankle again last week vs. Arkansas, though he is expected to play on Saturday vs. Florida. Even the knowledge that Derrius Guice is coming off the best game of his career (252 yards and 2 TDs vs. Arkansas) probably doesn’t make interim coach Ed Orgeron feel much better about Fournette’s situation.

A “loose ankle” is correctable, and in the short term, Fournette’s function can be restored. However, there is always at risk of a recurrence, like what we saw last week vs. the Razorbacks. The issue of a potential surgery will be more a factor at February’s NFL Combine than it is now.
Fournette has missed games against Jacksonville State on Sept. 10, vs. Missouri on Oct. 1, and vs. Southern Mississippi on Oct. 15. He has rushed for 803 yards at eight touchdowns on the season.

Despite the article, I hope LF7 recovers quickly and fully. I am not opposed to him taking the UF game off or the rest of the season off. His future is more important.

This is the epitome of irresponsible journalism. Even with NFL medical experts giving him the all clear, there will be some GMs who won't want to take a chance on a kid because they read some bogus article

Lol NFL GMs aren't putting any stock into a Internet article. They have their own teams doctors and scouts

He will need surgery IMO. It's not a big deal, he will be fine soon afterwards and have a long pro career.

He and that Ole Miss quarterback seem to both have a chronic problem I guess.

Who is the 'source'? Someone on LSU's medical staff or is this just a clickbait article?

Total click bait. "SEC Country Injury Expert Will Carroll reports" Literally no one that has seen or diagnosed his ankle in person. 100% click bait bullshite.

If you watch other teams defense, they are all tackling around the ankles. Which is exactly the best way to bring down a strong runner. I don't think they are trying to hurt Fournette, but you never know. I hope he gets healed up and has a strong pro career. I have enjoyed watching him the last 3 years. Good luck Leonard!
