Former LSU center and NFL All Pro Kevin Mawae has joined the Chicago Bears staff as an offensive line coaching assistant, according to FootballScoop.com:

Chicago Bears: Kevin Mawae, a 16-year NFL veteran and former two-term NFLPA president, has joined the staff as an assistant offensive line coach. Baton Rouge sports royalty Jordy Culotta and Derek Ponamsky shared the news this morning. Mawae worked with the Bears offensive line during training camp, and recently agreed to a contract to remain with the Bears this season.
Mawae played at LSU from 1990-1993 and went on to play 16 years in the NFL.

He is also a former president of the NFL Players Association.

This man loves him some LSU. No reason he should not have been hear coaching. So what he was still early on in his career, but he has so much knowledge to pass on that nobody on this staff can provide.
