Multiple sources are reporting that Florida starting quarterback Will Grier has been suspended for the rest of the season for a violation of NCAA rules.

Florida travels to Baton Rouge this upcoming weekend to face LSU on Saturday night in Tiger Stadium. Per ESPN:

Grier tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs, a source said. The positive test carries an automatic one-year suspension from the NCAA.

News of Grier's suspension was earlier reported by gridironnow.com.

A freshman from Davidson, North Carolina, Grier has thrown for 10 touchdowns, three interceptions and 1,204 yards for the eighth-ranked Gators.

I guess Ole Miss doesn't test, because Kelly is on enough amphetamines to wake the dead.

"Wait you hate that he used PEDs? Its his own stupid fault, if you dont want to get suspended dont cheat." It is definitely a mistake on his part, but something about a kid getting suspended for a year for taking something you can buy at Walgreens is upsetting. Its also upsetting to think about the bazillion dollars Florida and the SEC conference will make this year because of kids like Grier. And now because he took an FDA approved product made by LGD Pharmaceuticals (who also presumably makes a bazillion dollars a year) you potentially ruin his career? Again, mistake on his part but I won't sit here and call him a cheater, that's hypocritical IMO. The NCAA, SEC, Pharmaceutical Industry are all at best "cheaters".

Really Grier? No wonder he got so big over one year. The kid was skinny as hell last year. Remember when they made a big deal about how much weight he put on?

OTC substances should not be banned by the NCAA or professional leagues. If the FDA approves it, it should be allowable.

someone does not understand the divide between OTC and FDA. LMAO

Having said that, these kids are given the rules and he should have been more responsible. So in that regard, I dont feel sorry for him. Geaux Tigers. God bless Treon

The argument here is relatively weak. In the realm of workout supplements there are plenty of OTC items that are kind of a no brainer "I shouldnt take this because I get tested".

You can go to your local GNC and buy forms of Human growth hormone. Now people really cant be so dense that just because you can purchase it legally that its ok to be taken?

If the name has the letters "ol" at the end of it, check with someone before you take it. Most people know this.

Coach had to know something was up. He has been around players for years and when a kid gains weight like this then it is not just from eating and lifting like crazy.
