Fox Sports analyst Reggie Bush talked about LSU during the 'Big Noon Kickoff' this week and believes the Tigers can compete for a National Championship again in 2020. Per 247 Sports:
quote:

“I still like LSU a lot because they’re the defending champ,” Bush said on Big Noon Kickoff. “When you’re the defending champ, that next season, you play with different energy and different passion. This is the first one they’ve won in a long time, and the players know that. They’ll be eager to live up to what they did last year. They’ll want to try and repeat what they did last year. Obviously that’s easier said than done. When you look at the amount of people they lost — players and also Joe Brady — that’s a lot of pieces they lose. I say this with an asterisk, because I know how tough it will be for this team this year, but they do have the captain of their ship — Ed Orgeron — who will have you ready to run through a brick wall with his pregame speeches and just the way he prepares you for football games. He’s still the captain of that ship. As long as they still have Coach O, I believe in him, because I know his DNA and what he brings to the table. But it will be tough for them and tough for everyone this year. I know they lost Joe Brady, but Alabama lost Tua [Tagovailoa]. Other teams lost good players, which happens every year. It’s part of college football.”

Let's not forget about Terrance Marshall! Losing Chase hurt, but Chase was the #2 reciever before Marshall got hurt and was sidelined for a few games. Add to that Arik Gilbert, Racey McMath, and Trey Palmer and LSU is still a contender!

Reggie may have been at SC when Orgeron was there as an assistant, so, he knows him like he said.

God I wish we could’ve played them that year

That would have been a whale of a game because USC isn't Oklahoma.

With covid and the possibility of teams losing whole units, who knows who will contend. Could be any number of teams.

Once testing positive, going through either 10 day or 14 day quarantine, there is no re-testing for three months. October, November, December. In other words, the SEC looked at the CDC regimen, delayed the season, and structured the protocols to minimize COVID interruption.

With all the uncertainty and outside factors for ALL teams this year, LSU is just as capable as any team in college football to win it all. Additionally, the 'D' will be improved over last year. Lastly, don't sleep on Captain Miles Brennan #GEAUX TIGAS

Reggie is a reasonable man so I approve this message. He is right on most accounts we have our Captain in O so we won’t have many if any losses so I like our chances to get to SEC championship game.
