New LSU head coach Ed Orgeron joined the Paul Finebaum Show on Monday and was asked whether he thinks he should be the permanent LSU head coach after the season.
quote:

Paul Finebaum: "Do you think you should be the permanent LSU head coach?"

Ed Orgeron: "We'll we're going to see. I feel that there's some support in the administration. I'm from Louisiana but I also understand that pressure to win games at LSU. We have to win games. I think that if we do win games, I will have a fair shot at being the head coach here."

PF: "Do you think or have you been told that there is a magic number of games you need to win? Or a game you need to win?"

EO: "No. Not at all. It happened very fast Sunday. I was told to get this team in order, do the best I can. They had full confidence and I have their full support."

PF: "Do you think that if everything goes well, then you should be the head coach there?"

EO: "We'll see. We need to win some games. We need to beat Florida first. But I do believe that if we have success, I will have a fair shot."

Coach Orgeron handled that very well. Finebaum is a prick.

Finebaum tried to get him to say he deserved the job. He tried bad. It would have been blown out of proportion. Coach O sounded like a head coach. Not sure he will get the job, but LSU could do much worse. Coach O has come a long way from the Ole Sis days.

No matter what happens I hope he gets a fair shot. Not the first choice, but anything less than a fair shot is a crappy way to treat people.

"Or a game you need to win"... That troll looking count was hoping he would say "Alabama" so bad.

How can any Tiger fan not want him to win out and coach the Tigers? We aint USC to him. Storybook shite... Talk about really locking Louisiana down? Sheeeeeetttttttt...

I like coach O for the job. If we can't get Herman, I can't see anyone else doing a better job. He has the desire to make this team better. He doesn't see it as just a job like his predecessor did. He sees it as a responsibility to not only the team, but to the state. You have to be from here, like he is, to truly understand how he feels and how he believes in this team.

"He doesn't see it as just a job like his predecessor did", I can see where the position might be more coveted by Orgeron than Miles, but you are aware that Miles was at LSU for over 11 years. And even if some people don't like to admit it, Miles did seem to love LSU and the state of Louisiana. Now if you want to call someone out for viewing the LSU head coaching position as "just a job", I think you should point your finger towards Nick Saban instead of Miles.

I also like Orgeron for the job if things get turned around . He's off to a good start.

Finebaum is a prick asking these questions. He knows Coach O, or anybody, could answer them otherwise. Coach O did well handling them.

No he's not. Everyone wants to know, why not ask?

I dislike PF as much as the next guy, but he's just doing his job asking the first time... The second ask was gratuitous and douchey, though.

PFs job is worthless. As is anybody who listens to him.

Finebaum is just doing his job even if it is a shitty way of going about it. Props to CEO for handling it the way he did, it seems like every day it looks better and better that he came here when he did.

If he can go 7-1 and beat Bama, he'll have the fans' support and they'll give him the job. Lose to Bama and all that goes out the window.

I wish Coach O nothing but success, and I truly hope he tears it up from here on out and shows people what's up.

Wins out, definitely gets the job imo. Only loses to Alabama, should strongly be considered. Wins are the primary factor, I guess recruiting is in the mix, but that can't be held against him due to Miles being fired mid-season, that is on Alleva.
