Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson announced Thursday that he will transfer to another school for his final year of eligibility.

LSU could be a potential landing spot for Golston, according to ESPN's Brett McMurphy:
quote:

A 6-foot senior, Golson is undecided where he will transfer, a source said. Schools that might be interested in Golson include Alabama, Florida, Florida State, LSU and Texas.
Golston graduated this semester and will be able to transfer and play immediately, without sitting out a year.

In two seasons at Notre Dame, Golson threw for 5,850 yards, 41 touchdowns and 20 interceptions and led the Irish to an undefeated regular season in 2012.

He was suspended for the 2013 season for "poor academic judgment" and was not enrolled in the school.

Les isn't interested...he likes Jennings, with Harris as a backup. He's got the pedal to the metal on Mediocrity Lane. I think it's humorous that Bama has 5 QB's vying for the starting position and it sounds like they're interested in Golson as well. Saban knows without a dependable QB, he ain't got squat.

Thanks for your support tigerbutt, hahaha. I personally don't think Golson would be any better than what LSU has right now.

You think the QB controversy is bad now!!....what?!? What controversy? The only way you have a controversy is if both QB's can play and one is disgruntled because he is not playing. Who would transfer? Neither one could start anywhere else right now. BH has the most arm talent but he still has yet to understand the playbook. If Golson transfer here, he immediately becomes the starter and is an upgrade at the position. Coaches are trying like hell to give BH the job and he still can't take it.

"Thanks but no thanks. I believe LSU will be fine with the Quarterbacks that are already here."

When this talk first came up after the bowl game I was all for it. But for some reason I am feeling pretty good about Harris right now. Don't get me wrong, it wouldn't hurt to have Harris have one more year to learn and start as a junior, like may quarterbacks are recruited to do.

Golson is a good leader and fairly accurate passer. His main problem is fumbling while scrambling. If the O-line protects, he can be good for LSU.
