Former LSU Linebacker Devin White Signs With NFC North Team

Former LSU linebacker Devin White has agreed to a one-year deal with the Detroit Lions, the team announced this weekend.

The former All-Pro linebacker started in all 17 games last season with the Raiders.

White, 28, was drafted by the Buccaneers with the fifth pick of the 2019 draft.

White has appeared in 100 games over seven seasons, amassing 759 tackles and 25.5 sacks. He is one of only three NFL players since 2019 to have recorded over 500 tackles and more than 20 sacks.

A lot of people said he wasnt good but was just part of the system with Tampa. Last year proved he is a good player.

That's a great pickup for Detroit. Devin had 174 tackles last year.

It's crazy with his meteoric rise his first year how he fell off. I heard it was because he has tons of athleticism, but can't diagnose defenses. Kind of carryover from college days.

Heard from lots of Tampa fans that Lavante David had to make all the calls and line adjustments and that Devin just went with the play after those calls were made. He was putting up good numbers in Tampa and Lavante was getting older and closer to hanging it up. No way they would've cut a player like that if they were firing on all cylinders.
