Brian Kelly spoke with reporters after Saturday's practice and revealed that new transfer cornerback Jarrick Bernard-Converse is out this spring as he deals with a foot fracture.

Kelly was confident Bernard-Converse will be back for summer workouts and that the injury shouldn't linger.

The Shreveport, La. native transferred to LSU from Oklahoma State where he was a four-year starter and a first-team All-Big 12 selection last season.

Need at least one more solid corner, OC and OT or TE. I wouldn’t mind landing a solid LB either. But we’ll probably be in nickel / dime so much CB is much more needed. Those 3 positions are definitely our weakest areas by far! We could probably move a safety over to corner or play a bigger safety in a hybrid LB role. It’s very obvious that this new era of CFB needs a multiple / diverse defense. I think we have most of the pieces to pull that off, if we stay healthy.
