The No. 20 LSU Tigers (7-4, 5-3 SEC) will face No. 13 Louisville (9-3, 7-1 ACC) in the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl on Saturday, Dec. 31 at 11 a.m. ET.

The game will be televised on ABC. Per LSUSports.net:

Florida Citrus Sports’ Chairman Harold Mills and CEO Steve Hogan announced the matchup today on behalf of the organization’s Team Selection Committee. The 71st edition of the game will take place at 11 a.m. ET on Saturday, Dec. 31, at Camping World Stadium and will be televised nationally by ABC.

This year’s Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl will be the first-ever meeting between Louisville and LSU. The Tigers have played in Orlando three times previously, most recently in 2010. The Cardinals will be making their first appearance in the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl but their second appearance in an Orlando bowl game after the 2013 Russell Athletic Bowl.

I like the fact LSU will get a shot at beating the media darling L'Ville. However, Auburn is going to get whipped in the Sugar Bowl by Oklahoma. LSU vs Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl would have been a better game.

L'Ville's run defensive #s look good against the teams they beat bc usually those teams had to abandon the run to try to score fast in the second half. In the games they lost,'their D got shredded by good running attacks.

If Kentucky could find a way to beat them, so will LSU

I know that Louisville isn't a historically good football team, but in 2016, this team is solid. I'm not saying LSU *will* lose, but if they did I don't think it would come as a huge surprise. If LSU does indeed win, this would be the biggest win of the season for the Tigers.

LSU has lost to 3 teams in 2016 worse than Louisville

LSU would be Number 2 behind Alabama if it had played the same teams Louisville did.

Too bad we couldn't have played Florida State....

Playing Louisville in a championship BASKETBALL game would be great, but FOOTBALL? Half of the teams ahead of LSU in the rankings don't have schedules anywhere near a tough as LSU.

Can't wait for this game. Have friends that live in Kentucky and are big Louisville supporters, so this is for bragging rights. Can't get here fast enough as I can't take much more of the Saints pathetic displays! Just hope the Tigers bring the heat 120% as Louisville should not be taken lightly. Great offense with the probable Heisman winner at QB. Aranda will immediately get a chance to earn that new contract. Especially with Beckwith out. Side note: Our Bowl payout is bigger than Florida's! As well it should be! I now hate them more than Bama! Lol

I'm looking very much forward to this matchup. Aranda vs Petrino. I hope LSU shuts Louisville down and beats the hell outta them. Louisville sure hasn't faced a defense like LSU this season.

Anything less than the playoff is unacceptable. Bowls are like the trophies handed out as participation rewards.
