Former LSU tight end Jamal Pettigrew will be finishing his college career at McNeese State, the school announced Saturday.

Pettigrew graduated from LSU this week and will be eligible to play immediately at McNeese State.

The former four-star prospect from Saint Augustine High School in New Orleans only recorded two catches for 17 yards during his LSU career. He missed all of 2018 with an ACL injury.

Dang. I wish he could have contributed more. I kinda felt like 2018 was his year and he hurt himself. I think this is a good thing for him he has all the tools.

I was convinced he and T. Moss were going to be huge weapons in ‘18, but injuries derailed both of them that year.

Sometimes things don't work out like we envision. He displayed great character during his time here and I really hope he has a huge season and has the time of his life dominating against FCS competition. LSU signs 25 players a year, unfortunately they can't all work out. He wanted to be here and I will forever appreciate that.

Good luck to him, he will do well at McNeese. Had high hopes for him last year. It's a shame the injury took a year fo play time from him. Congrats on the graduation.
