Senior linebacker Damone Clark was named SEC Defensive Player of the week for his performance in LSU's 28-25 win over Mississippi State. Per SECSports:

-Set a career-high with 15 tackles in LSU's win over Mississippi State.

-On opening possession of game, scooped up a fumble at the LSU 30-yard line and returned it 35 yards setting up the Tigers' first touchdown of the game.

-LSU never trailed in the contest after going up 7-0 following the Mississippi State turnover.

-LSU's defense was on the field for 88 plays and limited the Bulldogs to 5.5 yards per play.

-Mississippi State's first seven possessions of the game resulted in only one field goal as the Tigers forced the Bulldogs to punt 3 times, forced 2 turnovers and a missed field goal late into the third quarter.
