LSU (3-2, 2-1 SEC) plays its second straight road game on Saturday when the Tigers travel to Columbia, Mo., to face Missouri (5-0-, 1-0 SEC). Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. and will be televised on ESPN with Bob Wischusen (pxp), Robert Griffin III (analyst) and Kris Budden (sideline). LSU is coming off a 55-49 loss to Ole Miss on Saturday, while Missouri remained undefeated with a 38-21 win over Vanderbilt. Both teams enter the game ranked in the Top 25 with LSU at No. 23 in both polls and Missouri ranked No. 21 in the AP poll and No.22 in the Coaches poll.
Quick Notes:
- LSU will wear a No. 3 decal on its helmet again this week to honor senior captain Greg Brooks, who was diagnosed with a brain tumor the week of the Mississippi State game. Brooks continues to recover and rehabilitate in a Baton Rouge hospital.
- LSU’s offense ranks in the Top 10 nationally in 6 categories: No. 1 in first downs (144), tNo.3 in 3rd-down conversions (57.6 pct.), No. 4 in total yards (551.4), No. 6 in passing (353.4), No. 7 in scoring (44.0), and No. 10 in pass efficiency (183.6 rating).
- With 513 total yards vs. Ole Miss, QB Jayden Daniels joined Rohan Davey and Joe Burrow as the only players in school history to top the 500-yard mark in total offense in a game. Davey did it once, while Burrow did it 3 times.
- Against Arkansas in week 4, Daniels became just the 6th player in FBS history pass for 10,000 yards and rush for 4,000-yards in a career when he went over the 10,000-passing yard mark vs. the Razorbacks. In his 48-game career, Daniels has thrown for 10,647 yards and rushed for 2,440.
- Daniels has accounted for at least 4 TDs in 4 consecutive games. He’s the first player in LSU history to accomplish such a feat in the same season. Joe Burrow did it once – final 2 games of 2018 and first 2 games of 2019.
- Daniels has also topped the 400-yard mark for total offense 3 times in 2023, joining Joe Burrow in 2019 as the only players in school history to do it at least 3 times in same season. Daniels has 4 games with 400 yards of total offense in his LSU career, second to only Burrow, who did it 6 times.
