LSU sophomore nose tackle Travonte Valentine has been dismissed from the team, the school announced Thursday.

This was his second stint with the Tigers.
quote:

Valentine, a sophomore from Hialeah, Florida, played in the first five games of the season for the Tigers, recording a total of 10 tackles. Valentine did not play in LSU’s final seven games.

“At this point in time, Travonte is no longer part of our football program,” Orgeron said. “We wish him the best.”
Valentine, a highly recruited four-star prospect from Palm Bay, FL, originally signed with LSU as part of the 2014 class but never played in a game due to ongoing eligibility issues.

He also reportedly failed multiple drug tests and missed an excessive amount of class after enrolling at LSU.

Valentine eventually transferred to Arizona Western Junior College but more off the field issues landed him at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.

The 6-4, 356-pound tackle made his return to LSU during fall camp before the start of the 2016 season.

mr valentine said himself he wants to follow in manziel's footsteps which he is just alot earlier. manziel at least complete 2 yrs of playing time on the field in college before making a fool out of himself and his family name. Mr valentine well as a talented recruit, he said shite he wants to beat his record so that what he doing. dont believe me? ask him yourself :)

10 tackles in five games as a nose guard. Is that bad or good?

Very disappointing. I thought after being given a second chance to come play at LSU he would get his stuff straight.

You had it made bro. Aranda and the chance to start. All you had to do was go to class, lose weight and not be a moron. You failed at all those things. Thanks for the wasted breath.

This really couldn't have happened at a better time - I think Godchaux is jumping the gun (I wish him the best) - but Lac coming back will soften that blow a little. Otherwise, no better time to free up a spot for what will be one of the best DL (DT particularly, if we land all the likely/probable guys at this point) classes in the history of the program.
