A New No. 18 Has Been Awarded For The 2026 Season

LSU announced Wednesday morning that returning starting center Braelin Moore will wear No. 18 for the Tigers this season.

Moore becomes just the second center in program history to receive the honor, joining former Tiger Lloyd Cushenberry III, who wore the No. 18 patch during LSU's 2019 national championship season.

The fifth-year senior transferred to LSU from Virginia Tech ahead of last season and started 12 games at center, playing 623 offensive snaps and allowing just one sack. Moore will continue to wear No. 61 during games while representing No. 18 with a patch on his jersey.

LSU's No. 18 tradition recognizes a player who represents leadership, character and a team-first mentality. Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier received the honor last season.

Nothing against Moore, he's a good player and great teammate, but I thought Bo Bordelon or Whit Weeks should/would get it. Feels a little cheap giving it to a guy that transferred here a couple years ago over players that have been here 4 and 5 years.
