After Saturday's game vs. Southeastern, LSU 's Joe Burrow made it clear that he's not the type of quarterback that is going to slide to avoid a hit if he has to scramble out of the pocket.

Burrow met with the media on Monday and was asked again about sliding and if he's going to start doing it going forward.
quote:

"I don’t know if I’ll do the whole Tom Brady baseball slide," Burrow said. "But I’ll try and take some hits off myself."

Head coach Ed Orgeron and tight end Foster Moreau both chimed in on Burrow's fearless style of play Monday afternoon.

He said it like it’s a shame to do baseball slide like Tom Brady. You ever wonder why Tom Brady was able to have a long career and win a lot of rings, Joe? Cuz he played smart and not try to be hardheaded to prove his toughness. When you injured yourself, no one is gonna remmeber you for your “toughness”.

JB isn't a puss. Let him play like a man. If he takes a hit when he runs he can also call out his lineman when he needs to because he earned it. You can't control getting injured in a game as violent as football.

I like the aggression, but the way he welcomed the contact doesn't bode well. He should have seen he would get popped and make a move to avoid a full blow. He doesn't have to slide, but he shouldn't run into contact with a disadvantage of leverage and leaving his ribs exposed.
