Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry knows LSU coach Lane Kiffin won't exactly receive a warm welcome when he returns to Ole Miss on Saturday.

With emotions expected to run high in Oxford, Landry joked to ESPN that some extra security might be needed for Kiffin and the Tigers.

"I'm thinking about having to send him in on an F-16 and maybe the team on a C-130," Landry said. "Security is going to be really tight. You know, we might need the National Guard out there to protect our team. I think it's going to be an interesting weekend."
Landry added that his office has been in communication with officials in Mississippi to make sure LSU's team and coaches are protected.
quote:

"I know that we've been talking with Mississippi and making sure that we have adequate security for the team and coach," Landry said. "But I'm hoping that we can go there and play in complete Southern hospitality and have a great, great game."
Kiffin also acknowledged Monday that there are "real safety issues" surrounding his return, telling LSU players that most of the attention and "hatred" will be directed toward him.

No. 7 LSU and No. 8 Ole Miss will meet Saturday in Oxford in the first top-10 matchup between the programs since 1962.
