LSUSports.net reporter Emily Dixon recently caught up with sophomore defensive lineman Rashard Lawrence for the latest edition of Inside the Huddle.

Lawrence tweaked his foot/ankle vs BYU last week but stayed in the game. He has not practiced with the team this week.

Fyi...his uncle, Oliver Lawrence, is the single season record holder for sacks at 12. Arden Key tied it last season.

Gonna be the best lineman to ever come out of LSU.

I hope you're right. He needs to pick it up a little bit. Get to that QB and be relentless. I'm sure he will though. That DL needs to play smart. Saw lots of over running from the blitz and guys falling down, missing the sack or tackle because they are in too big of a hurry to make the play. Just put yourself in position then when it comes to you attack it, don't miss. Last year there were a ton of missed tackles behind the line because they didn't finish the play. Don't be scared hit their ass. Looks like they kinda tar it easy on the QB or RB they trying to tackle so no penalties are thrown. That's bull shite. Just go after them without using your crown. Get em boys.

I would also like to see them scrap the ball more as they are tackling the ball carrier, either the QB or RB or whom ever had the ball.
