That’s a good deal. Plus we get to rest and heal after Texas, younger players get much needed reps, win win, I think.

These kids at the small schools get the opportunity of a lifetime to play in front of the largest audience they will ever see! Not to mention national coverage on TV! Their school also gets a large sum of money, and the outside chance of possibly knocking off the giant in their own house! Why not?!

My dad played for S. L. I. Always used to tell us about the time they played Alabama.

Its great to help out in state schools. As an FYI Alabama refuses to schedule any team from Alabama not named Auburn in football. Just learned that nugget this week. Saban must still be shell shocked from UAB while at LSU.

Considering their shenanigans with trying to kill UAB’s football program a few years ago, it doesn’t surprise me.

That's actually less than what I expected. I guess it's about right though considering we paid Troy $985k and they're fbs and NW St. is fcs.

And they're going to earn every penny

They get paid less because they are FCS. Low level FBS teams command the most money because they are an automatic W but also provide a more quality win.

Significantly cheaper than the $950k that the Vols paid to Georgia State

LA. Tech received 750k last year. Amazing what these smaller schools bring in to lose the game.

For the Demons it isn't even viewed as a "loss". If we lose by 60, no big deal because we were supposed to. However, our athletes and school get a ton of exposure we would not normally get. On the off chance we play LSU close then we get the extra benefit of that. For LSU its a more relaxed game and they are making more than enough to cover the 600K (which is not expensive to pay a road team). Win-win for both schools

Also, I like the relationship that O has with the in state schools. Harbaugh said that he was bullying the smaller schools because they have stopped allowing oos schools to do satellite camps here.
