Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin held his weekly press conference on Monday to provide team updates and preview the upcoming LSU game on Saturday.

Here's everything he had to say about the Tigers:

Question: Brian Kelly previously mentioned that last years game forced them to evaluate the defense and ultimately make coaching changes. What do you think of those comments and do you expect LSU's players to play with a chip on their shoulder because of that game?

Kiffin: They have a new staff over there and Brian Kelly does a great job. I think he's the all-time active, winningest college coach. You have to make hard changes to be a successful head coach, which I'm sure was challenging for him. But you have to do what's in the best interest of the team.

Every year is independent, so I don't know that there's much relative to last year. I think, as you see in college football, you can't even say what's relative a week ago, and how somebody plays and how they play against this team, and then the next week, that's not going to matter at all. You better get your team motivated each week, or you will lose.

Question: What are the challenges that LSU brings to the table for you this week?

Kiffin: Like all LSU teams, regardless of the head coaches, they're extremely talented, great-looking players and explosive on offense. Garrett Nussmeier is really talented and has a really good release. They have really good players that we have to go up against, and it's been the case for a long time.

Question: What are your experiences in Death Valley?

Kiffin: The Covid season, we should have won. We didn’t.

We won while at Alabama down there and played sloppy but won in overtime with a rub route.

We took the lead two years ago early, but I think that was Jayden Daniels’ coming out. I don’t think people realized how good he was. He throws a ball, and we should pick it off, but we don’t, and they score on it. After that, he started taking off and becoming an elite player. Those are some of my memories.

Kiffin is better than he used to be and like the other poster said, I'd like for him to replace Kelly at LSU if/when Kelly retires or gets let go. Kiffin with LSU's players would be so entertaining.

Not even gonna lie if Kiffen continues to mature and stay loyal to Ole Miss and and in 3 years BK decide to hang it up I’d take Lane in a second.

Florida is what is was without Spurrier or Urban Meyer... They are a mid-tier program.
