Former LSU edge rusher Jack Pyburn will remain in the NFL after being claimed off waivers by the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday.

Pyburn was waived by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday and had planned to return to LSU if he was not picked up by another NFL team.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Pyburn has informed LSU that he is withdrawing his claim in the NCAA's "5-for-5" eligibility litigation and will remain in the NFL.

Pyburn had an impressive preseason with Tampa Bay, recording four sacks before being left off the Buccaneers' initial 53-man roster.

The Chiefs' waiver claim officially ends what had been shaping up to be a potential return to Baton Rouge for the former Tiger.
