Linebacker Erick Fowler, a former LSU verbal commit, has been granted his release from Texas and plans to transfer.

The former five-star prospect from Manor, TX flipped his commitment from the Tigers to the Longhorns on National Signing Day 2016. Per Bleacher Report:
quote:

Fowler originally committed to LSU, and the Tigers might be in play for his services again. Les Miles was LSU's coach when Fowler committed, but new coach Ed Orgeron played a heavy hand in recruitment efforts under Miles.
Fowler is the fourth 2016 Texas signee to leave the program.

He'd have 2 years of maturation in a college strength program by the time he could play so this might not be a bad deal for us.

Was kinda surprised by the comments, but I completely agree. He screwed us on NSD, and he can't even cut it in Texas, he is not LSU material. Placebeaux said it right. He made his bed, now he can sleep in it.

If Herman is making it easy for him to leave, I would not be rolling out the red carpet to get him in BR.
