Former LSU and current Buffalo Bills cornerback Tre'Davious White was named NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month by the league on Thursday.

White, who played for LSU from 2013-2016, was selected 27th overall by the Bills in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Per Buffalobills.com:

He was projected as a starting cornerback from the time he was drafted. But the start that Tre’Davious White has gotten off to has exceeded some of the most optimistic expectations. His performance in his first three games has earned White, NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month honors for September.

“I know that I belong in this league,” said White. “If I continue to take that approach and continue to practice hard like I do and continue to be a team player and accept the coaching, I’ll be fine.”

Rookie cornerbacks are frequently targets of opposing quarterbacks, but NFL signal callers are quickly learning that it’s going to be difficult to make plays against Tre’Davious White.

Exactly what I was thinking. Injured already. I knew Tre would be successful. He has been since day 1.

I love Tre White. He's a guy that's easy to root for and a great role model. I wish him the very best life has to offer. He deserves everything he is getting.

He leads the league with 7 passes defended. Well on his way to Defensive Rookie of the Year.

He's not bad. I just think Tre will play longer because of his durability, whereas Lattimore has been injured most of his career.
