Now that spring practice in college football has wrapped up, ESPN writer Edward Aschoff ranked the LSU running backs No. 1 in his "post-spring position rankings."

Here is what he had to say about the talented group which is headlined by Heisman favorite Leonard Fournette.

1. LSU: The Tigers possess the SEC's best running back and one of the nation's best players overall in Leonard Fournette. Embarrassingly, Fournette, who finished last year with 1,953 yards and 22 touchdowns, wasn't a Heisman Trophy finalist. I'm sure that isn't motivating or anything. Right behind him, Derrius Guice and Darrel Williams did most of the work this spring. Guice, who 436 yards and three touchdowns is the No. 2 back, with Williams (296 and four TDs) behind him.

1. LSU
2. Tennessee
3. Georgia
4. Auburn
5. Alabama
6. Kentucky
7. Florida
8. Vanderbilt
9. Arkansas
10. Ole Miss
11. Texas A&M
12. Mississippi State
13. Missouri
14. South Carolina

I forgot he wasn't even a finalist. What a joke that award has become.

Ole Miss's lack of a running game is a real Achilles heel. 1963.

I know he still cares about the heisman, but I don't care anymore after realizing how biased the media is even for something like that. I think these rankings are almost spot on when you take in account production, potential, depth, and recent history (teams' past rushing performances). I do believe that TAMU will get back to basics by running the ball more this year, and they have the better talent there, so I would have put them above Ole Miss. Other than that, incredible job on the rankings for once.

To add, since I can't edit, if Chubb was 100% healthy, UGA would no doubt have the #2 spot.

Not to mention, the winner carried the ball 50 times a game and had a couple of extra games to boot!

Leads the nation in yards per game. Doesn't even get to New York. Makes sense.
