ESPN Ranks LSU QB Sam Leavitt Among Power 4 Quarterbacks

ESPN's Bill Connelly released his first quarterback rankings of the 2026 season this week, ranking all 68 Power 4 starters.

LSU quarterback Sam Leavitt came in at No. 19 after an up-and-down start that has still included several impressive performances.

Connelly highlighted Leavitt's strong outings against Clemson and Texas A&M, while also noting the injuries he's battled early in the season.

Leavitt has been a moving target in 2026. His work against Clemson and Texas A&M -- 86 total points, a 91.3 Total QBR, 10.5 yards per dropback, 7.9 yards per (non-sack) carry -- was Heisman-worthy, but he threw four interceptions and averaged just 6.4 yards per dropback against Louisiana Tech and Ole Miss. He's banged up, and his star tight end (Trey'Dez Green) is out, but his numbers are still good.
