8) LSU
The Tigers have one of the most beautiful color combinations in all of college football. Legend has it that LSU’s color scheme originated in 1893 because stores around Baton Rouge were selling gold and purple streamers (the green ones weren’t delivered yet) for Mardi Gras. Fast forward 121 years later, and those colors have stayed the same, making LSU one of the most easily recognizable teams in college football.
The team’s decision to wear gold pants every week is unique, as is its decision to wear white uniforms at home. But the team’s best look is the striking purple top with gold pants and a gold helmet – one of the best kits in all of college football. LSU’s helmet decals will be changing a bit in 2014 to match the school’s new logo, but it doesn’t take much away from the classic look.
