Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports
During LSU's first practice on Thursday morning, it was clear that sophomore quarterback Brandon Harris started first ahead of teammate Anthony Jennings.

In the QB - RB drills, Harris would work with running back Leonard Fournette and Jennings would work with Darrel Williams.

When the afternoon practice ended, coach Les Miles addressed the media an confirmed that Harris was "starting first" in practice but said that "starting first isn't as important as playing dominant football".

As always, we will have to wait and see how this plays out.

In his history...He gave Harris the opportunity to take the job last year against Auburn. But Harris shite the bed and that was the end of it. He's getting a chance this year...hopefully he's prepared this time around.

Not sure what in CLM's history leads anyone to believe Harris will start. He will give Jennings plenty of chances before we see a change at QB.

I don't think there's any question Harris has more potential. Hopefully with a year under his belt he has a better understanding of the playbook, and has won the trust of the coaching staff. If he has proven he does, the sky's the limit.

"Miles should have realized that after the Arkansas game"

blueballs, be more specific cause Jennings won the Arky game the year before on a single throw.

@Spankum, problem is what is Les' definition of dominant play?

While we don't understand his coach talk, his changes after '08, we all know exactly what he means.

I have no idea what that means.

Harris has more talent and potential. Give him the reins and if their are growing pains, so be it. Jennings' limitations limit the offense as a whole. Miles should have realized that after the Arkansas game.

doesn't matter to me who starts first or second, but someone needs to step up and play some dominant ball...take command and the starting job is yours....
