LSU's Brian Kelly joined the SEC Coaches Teleconference on Wednesday morning to discuss the season opener vs. Florida State and provide team updates.

During the call he was asked about Tigers quarterback Jayden Daniels. Here's what he had to say. Per SDS:
quote:

“The preparation part has been very effective, we haven’t got into the performance part yet that’s when you start to answer a lot of these questions,” Kelly said. “In terms of his preparation both on and off the field, I think it’s exactly where we want it to be. His growth off the field in terms of his work in community. His ability to lead, he’s been named captain, he’s developed in a manner that when you see his work in practice, you see a more complete quarterback and those are the things we’re mapping out, he’s stronger physically, he’s put on the right weight, he’s healthy in all those areas. Now it’s about flipping that switch and going from all this preparation to performance. In my experience, tells me if you’ve prepared the right way, in all facets, the performance takes care of itself now it’s just a matter of waiting for that opportunity and then taking advantage of it.”

doesn't have to be a 'Burrow' = that ship has passed. woke up from that dream.
All he has to do is put that ball up there for the receivers to have a chance at making the play.
Gonna get a few interceptions. but give the receivers a chance to show what they can do.

I just want him to have learned how to read through his progressions. That is a minimal skill that a QB needs.

All of you frickholes that downvoted this need to come back and apologize. He is the same as last year.

I think BK's downplaying what JD's about to do. He's gonna be Joe Burrow Sunday and BK's gonna just look at the camera with a lil twinkle in his eye and snicker...haha.

The P&G glasses are a bit strong here. JD is a 5th year senior who can run. That should bode well, but he's no Burrow.

I all for optimism cajunmud! The coaching he has received this offseason, continuity and all that points in a great direction but I'm over here like doubting Thomas until I see for myself. Hope he balls out!
