Brian Kelly joined the SEC Coaches Teleconference on Wednesday and spoke about LSU defensive back Jay Ward who has "thrived" in his new nickel position. Per SDS:
quote:

“Quite honestly, he probably didn’t play up to his level against Florida State,” Kelly said on the SEC coaches media teleconference. “It’s probably because we didn’t have him in the right place. We moved him down to the nickel and he’s thrived. … He likes to be around the action. … He’s an aggressive player and a really good tackler and it really suits his skills. Since we made that move, he’s really played well for us.”
Ward was named SEC Player of the Week on Monday for his dominant play vs. Mississippi State when he recorded a career-best 11 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and an interception.

Nice to see a coach admit a wrong and correct it.

Good to see the adults are in charge again. How much have we seen players out of position in the past?
